Oklahoma City, OK –Oct. 15, 2010 - New Horizons Computer Learning Center, the world’s largest independent technical training company, announced that its Oklahoma City center has re-opened under the ownership of 5Point Enterprises, LLC, of Austin, TX. 5Point owns and manages ten New Horizons centers in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio and Missouri.
5Point CEO and President, Derek Wright, who is a Ponca City, OK, native, is confident the training center will prove to be a valuable resource to local businesses. “We are excited to a part of the vibrant business community that is continuing to build in this area. We want to be here to help business owners increase the skills of their staff, helping them be more productive and efficient in their day-to-day activities.”
The centers under the 5Point umbrella have an outstanding history of success, having won numerous awards for Instructor Excellence and Customer Service, and have several centers that have been named as “Best Places to Work” in their area.
5Point has already brought several changes to the Oklahoma City location since its acquisition on October 1. In addition to adding several new staff members, the training center, located at 3010 NW 149th Street, has been newly reconfigured to prepare the center for the updated, more robust schedule of classes.
Also new is the award-winning Online LIVE class offerings. Online LIVE allows students to attend live, instructor-led training through a virtual environment, and offers a guaranteed-to-run schedule of technical and desktop applications classes covering Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, Citrix, vmWARE, and more.
“Online LIVE allows us to offer 40-60 classes each week, covering topics from Microsoft Exchange Server configuration to Project Management, and that’s in addition to our traditional classroom-based training,” said Ben Posey, general manager of the center. “This platform provides the opportunity for local businesses to ensure their employee development needs are met while the robust schedule allows for flexibility.” 5Point has additional changes in store for the Oklahoma City center.
There are plans to expand the Oklahoma City staff further, bringing on additional educational consultants, instructors and account executives. The center is also going through the application process that will allow them to train individual consumers not associated with a company.
